Need an Official Record?
Use these Troup County and Georgia channels for the most requested records:
- Court case files: contact the Clerk of Superior and State Courts, 100 Ridley Avenue, LaGrange, GA 30240, 706-883-1610, weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Georgia histories: follow the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and GCIC access instructions
- Arrest, booking, and jail records: call Troup County Jail at 706-883-1729 and ask for the correct sheriff custodian
- Older court files: use Troup County Archives after obtaining the court and case number from the clerk
- Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
- Record restriction: begin with the arresting agency for pre-July 1, 2013 arrests or the prosecutor for later arrests
For sheriff or jail material, first use the official Sheriff's Office site and ask whether Professional Standards/Open Records or the jail records custodian owns the request. For county-administration records, contact Open Records Officer Valerie West at vwest@troupcountyga.gov or 706-883-1610.
